WHY DRONE CAMP?

Drones are exploding in popularity as the technology of the future; they are changing the rules of industry after industry from logistics to firefighting. An estimated 100,000 high-paying drone jobs will be created by 2025 and the STEM skills acquired in drone camp give you a head start to claim one. By the way, they’re a lot of fun!

"Flymore Academy is not your typical STEM camp. Their programs gave our students a real-life engineering experience with professional-grade drones, helping to prepare them for the 100,000 emerging drone-related jobs..."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How long are camp sessions?

Each camp session last 4 hours per day for a full 5-day week Monday through Friday.

Is this a STEM camp?

Yes! Our camps are packed with engineering and technology learning. However we are not a traditional STEM camp that picked up drones as the hot topic of the week; we are real drone pilots that want to share the thrill of drone building and flight. In addition, our camps offer a unique combination of technology and sport, where participants not only learn how drones work but also compete in fast-pace drone races.

Will campers pilot in the engineering camp?

Yes! Engineer campers will fly the drones they build in addition to practice drones we provide while their own drones are still under construction.

What does FPV mean?

FPV, or first-person view, means that the pilot sees from the perspective of the camera on the front of the drone through goggles or a monitor screen. Campers will learn to fly drones with goggles just like the pros.

What materials do participants take home at the end of camp?

Participants in Engineering Camp will keep the drone that they build along with FPV goggles, a radio controller, batteries, and chargers. Participants in Piloting Camp have the option to purchase a drone to take home. All campers receive a t-shirt.

When and where is the next camp?

The next camps offered are both the Piloting Camp and the Engineering Camp, which will be held at Charlotte Catholic High School from July 24th to July 28th. Limited spots are available.

What is the camp's refund policy?

We understand that sometimes unforeseen life events can change your plans. We provide full refunds upon request until 6 weeks before camp begins.

WHY CHOOSE US?

Our team comes from a Drone Racing background and our eagerness to share the excitement of FPV drone piloting stems from those roots. In Drone Racing, pilots must precisely maneuver their drones around an unforgiving course breaking speeds of 80mph; our instructors live and breathe drones.
